Family Porch
A private digital home where families can share, remember, plan and stay connected across generations.
01
Why I built it
Families deserved a place designed for them.
I built Family Porch from a simple belief: families deserve a private digital place that is designed around connection rather than attention.
The people closest to us should not have to rely on public feeds, advertising systems or algorithms to share the ordinary pieces of a life together.
02
The problem I kept seeing
Family life was scattered across borrowed spaces.
Photographs disappeared into camera rolls, stories moved past in group chats, plans lived in separate calendars, and pieces of family history were held by whichever person happened to remember them.
Most social platforms were built for public reach. Families needed something quieter, more intentional and able to include several generations without turning their lives into content.
03
What it became
A shared home for family life.
Family Porch became an invite-only, ad-free place for photographs, stories, reunions, family trees, recipes and the records people want to keep.
It also includes Porch Light, a gentler way to remain in touch when a relationship needs more care and a different pace.
04
Why it still matters
Connection is made from small acts, repeated.
Family history is not only made from major milestones. It is also made from the photographs, recipes, voices, dates and everyday stories that are easy to lose.
A family space should help people keep those things close while giving them control over who is invited inside.
